This past week…

Can I just say that the beginning of the year is a bad time to roll out new accounting software!  I’ve been so stressed double entering everything and things not working right that it’s been stressing me out to the point I’ve been grinding my teeth and talking non stop in my sleep!  I broke a tooth, people!  And I chipped my front tooth!  I spent the greater part of 4 hours in the dentist chair Wednesday with my mouth propped open (btw, my cheeks are still sore and it’s Sunday) and I get to go back in a couple weeks for a permanent crown.

I digress.

I’ve been doing a lot of sewing spurts this week!  I whipped up some really cute infinity scarves for my store, which, when I list something I think it will sell right away…and it doesn’t and it makes me crazy!  Is it just me?  I keep checking the stats and they keep going up but nope, they’re all still there.

Yep, all there

Also this week something magical happened.  Nintendo re released the scariest of all the Zelda games on the 3ds.  Majora’s mask.  This game came out in 2000 on the N64 and may be the root cause of my anxiety.  I never actually played it, but I watched my boyfriend’s little brother play it.  The premise of the game is the moon is going to crash into the world in three days unless you can save it.  No big deal right?!

Also there are lots of things on the interwebs about how Link was actually dead the whole game and this is just him going through stages, all kinds of things.  Also, they killed his horse.  How. Rude.  Anyhow I’ve been facing my fears and playing for hours on end all weekend lol!

But the BEST news of all! Yes! Better than the scary game!  I have graduated to the world of adult planners.  Last year I got myself a birthday gift of a planner.  I’ve had them in the past, used them for about a week and then trashed them.  Like, a lot.  So I thought I would get a one year one just to see how I’d do, and if I didn’t use it much, no big deal.  Well I did it.  I made it about eleven months using my little planner to help keep myself organized and even help remember random things. (When did I first go to the doctor for that tick bite?  When did we look at this house or that house? All there!)  I was planning on getting myself a filofax for my birthday this year, but my husband beat me to it! A week early!  ❤

I’m the proud new owner of a Malden Filofax a5 size that is so cool looking.  It looks like if Thomas Jefferson had a planner, and the capabilities of dying leather, this would be his.  (Btw, thank you, drunk history for forever renaming Thomas Jefferson in my head as Tommy Jeffs.)

I’ve got it laid out how I want it, now I just need a couple more pages and it’ll be good to go!  Now I have no idea what to do for my birthday now lol.  Although….my husband found some Twin peaks fabric for sale on Spoonful 😮

Until next time! Happy sewing!

Sewing Room Reveal!!

YES!

My thoughts exactly, Fran.

I will use this picture to express shock as many times as possible.

You read that right.  I’m finally doing it.

I would have done this sooner but I got a serious case of the sniffles about a week ago PLUS it’s an insanely busy time for me at work.  Sorry for the delay! 😀

So here it is!!

A few of my favorite things:

  • I have a sweet little peg board set up for all of my doodads and thingamabobs to keep them handy yet out-of-the-way.
  • I finally feel like I have all the room I need to spread out and plan and plot things without having to worry about anyone needing to get in there or around it.  It’s nice to be able to leave a project out when it isn’t going to be finished in one sitting.
  • I love this blue!!!  It’s so peaceful and serene.  My old sewing room was bright yellow and it made it difficult to look at colors.  It also didn’t have a light in the ceiling…
  • I really like having my little speaker up on that little shelf.  It sounds silly, but it really makes it feel like the sound is coming from everywhere.

Right now, I’m working on getting some delayed projects knocked out, so surely I’ll have some things to blog about!  I’m also trying to build up some store stock.  I’ve got some infinity scarves in the works, and then I’ve got some wallets to get going.  I’m also adding on to a quilt that I made for my niece a few years ago.  I’ve got a lot to keep me busy!

Until next time!  Happy sewing!
