Gearing up!

This weekend kicks off the biggest craft fair season I’ve started so far!

The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.

Instead of doing a blog for each craft fair, I’m doing a monthly post to cover all of them.  I have almost 2 a month from April through September, now possibly one in November, so I’ll be sure to take a lot of pictures and keep a lot of reminders to myself about what all happens!  If you’d like to come see me and Melinda, check out this link to my craft fair schedule for this Summer!

So I have a list to get through this week to make sure I’m ready for this weekend, and I’ll probably have the same list every couple of weeks!  Make things, count things, all sorts of fun! It’s a pretty standard list; count change bag, finish display, pack up, have fun!

The problem with making all this stuff is mid way through a project, I want to make something else “that’ll only take two seconds” and then the first thing doesn’t get finished, and I make something else, and it snowballs out of control!  I just need to get myself under control!

I am considering making some “craft fair exclusives” like some yarn pom pom bookmarks and some demos of designs I’m thinking up. I’ll have more on that later!

I have craft fair fears, but I’m mostly excited.  I have this fear that everything will sell out, nothing will sell, or I won’t be prepared some how.  I try to squelch these fears by having a lot of things made and making a lot of check lists.  I also keep looking at the positives!  These craft fairs are all curated.  You can apply, but you won’t necessarily get in!  I didn’t get into two of the fairs I applied to this year, but I’m not sad about it.  I know there’s always next year, and I am just happy to be a part of the fairs I’m doing already!  I’ve actually signed up for an nineth one!

I hope you’re having a great week, and I’ll write again next week!

Tell me what you think!
