Can you stop it?

For the third time in a year, I’ve logged on to find that “we’ve changed things to help your items be found!” which means, I have to recategorize everything in my shop all over again.  I appreciate you trying to help out shops, but stop fiddling with things!

Every time there is some kind of change, all of my item’s categories are just dropped, and I don’t get an email that says “hey we’re changing stuff!” and by week two of low views. I go in and notice a message that says something like “we’ve changed some of our categories and couldn’t properly recategorize your items” and now I have to find some new way to organize everything.  I don’t get an email letting me know beforehand, I just have to log in and actually open up an item to find this change has happened.  Suddenly my coloring book portfolios are under “craft supplies and tools” which…okay, but not really?

I know that there are a lot of shops who “set it and forget it” so these quick changes with no notification could potentially really hurt them.  Since I do still check my stats constantly throughout the day I find all these little changes, and they keep me on my toes.  It’s annoying, but I guess until I get my own online store that’s just what I have to deal with.

  1. Yikes, that sounds frustrating! Seems like they’d be more helpful to let people know in advance so you would have a chance to change them beforehand. :/
