A look at some things I’m looking forward to in the Summer!
This year has been rough. Recently I’ve just been feel really touchy, and I’m doing my best to keep my head up, and part of that is just looking forward. One thing I’m doing to keep my head up is thinking of my favorite Summer things, so I wanted to make a list of things I’m excited about for this Summer.
Craft Fair Break
I won’t have another craft fair until August, which is giving me some relaxing weekend time. I’ve been having fun, and it’s nice to have some time that I don’t have to work on rebuilding stock for my shop, but I am, just not quite so under the gun.
The Heat!
I actually really really love hot weather. I blame my Alabama roots. I may not always want to be out there in it, but I do love the heat.
Fruit / Smoothies
Something about the summer makes you want to get into shape, eat better, and staying on the go. Smoothies are a great way to help you eat a little smarter when you’re on the go. We like mixing some frozen fruits, greek yogurt, honey, oatmeal, and peanut butter together and having some really great smoothies to start off the day.
Quilts Galore!
I’m working on tons of WIPs right now, and I keep hopping between them, and I don’t really feel any pressure to speed through any of them. I mean, there is some urgency, but no strict deadlines.
Traveling
We’ve got a couple of family trips planned for the Summer, and I’m also thinking about making a little trip by myself to go visit Gee’s Bend. It’s not terribly far from my hometown, so I feel like it would be a fun trip.
TV Shows
I know that Fall is more of a big TV time, but with streaming shows coming up with their own schedules outside of the traditional norms, my Summer viewing schedule is really kicking off. You’ve probably seen me blogging about Twin Peaks each week, but there’s so many more shows out there that I’m watching. Just leaving out all of my Bravo watching, there’s House of Cards season 5, Game of Thrones season 7 is coming out soon, I mean, it’s a wonderful time to be alive…at least as far as tv goes.
Just a little reminder, that there’s tons of things out there to be happy about. As 2017 does it’s best to make 2016 look like a rehearsal for…who knows what…just remember to keep in mind things that you love and are happy about so that you don’t lose it. Until next time, happy sewing!

Can I convince you to recap Game of Throne season 7 too?! Just one more week! I’ve also always wanted to visit the Gees’s Bend Quilters. We should make it a road trip!
I’ve been considering game of thrones to recap as well! 😄 I’ll probably want to go to gee’s bend more than once, so I’ll tell you when I’m going again.
