A look at a German show on Netflix.
I didn’t really know what to think about this show going in; my sister suggested it to me and I thought I’d give it a shot. I finished the whole show one snowy day, and made a lot of stuffed animals during that time.

Hi!
So this show is German, and it’s full of dark subject matter (including suicide and dead kids so just a warning). I was just anticipating Nazis at any moment, but they thankfully didn’t show up. The concept of the show is that every 33 years there is basically a time reset, and the same events happen over and over, just to different characters. There is also time travel, nuclear power plant suspicion, and kidnapped kids.
The short version of this is that one character is trying to test a time machine and he keeps testing it on kids, which kills them, and then he is dumping their bodies in different times. I don’t know why they need the time machine though, because they can seem to time travel using the 33 year loop…thing…using these caves that are under the town and power plant.
What I like about this show is that it shows the characters in 3 different time periods. So the present day (2019) parents are teens in 1986, and the parents in 1986 were kids in 1953. There is one character that kind of is in a loop that can’t be undone, and really complicates things in the present, and that’s kind of sad. However, the “main” character (which I named rain coat…I can’t keep up with all these people and their German names) seems to be able to travel between these time periods both using the caves and possibly this time machine, and he sees himself and TALKS TO HIMSELF (I’m pretty sure Doc Brown said not to do that) and unlike every time travel thing, when something happens in the past, it’s as if it’s always been that way, because nothing seems to change in the future!
I did really like this show. There’s a lot of scandal and drama and it’s really interesting. I don’t want to give this show away, because it really was a great watch. I’ll be waiting for season 2 to come out! Okay I will spoil one thing because I can’t help myself. The dog is fine. And you’ll probably laugh about it because I did. Let me know if you’ve seen this show, I’d love to hear what you think! Until next time, happy sewing!
