This month’s been chocked full of everything!
This month I’ve gotten a few different custom orders, and I’ve continued work on two different quilts! It was also my birthday, and QuiltCon! To be the shortest month, this month seems to always be the most full.
There was also a landslide that covered part of my drive to work so I have to wake up 30 minutes earlier but anyhow.
Here’s a look at my custom orders, I’ve got a couple more right now but I can’t take any more orders until after the middle of April so I can get caught up for my next two events!
I didn’t spend as much time documenting my QuiltCon experience this year, but I had so much fun! I saw several quilts that I’ve seen online, so many meaningful and powerful quilts, and it was overall so much fun. It was great for inspiration, because I don’t already have 18 quilts plotted out in my head. 😉 Besides wandering in awe of quilts and collecting pins and buttons, I also went to a couple different lectures, including the lovely Mary Fons speaking about feminism in quilting, and Teresa Duryea Wong discussing indigo in Japan and Japanese quilting in general. Most people I know that go to QuiltCon sign up for classes and lectures and all sorts of things, but I mostly like to volunteer and almost get a behind the scenes look at what’s going on, as well as enough free time to do what I want. Also I get anxious thinking about being stuck in a class I might not like (and they’re not cheap!) and then not getting what I wanted out of my experience there. Lectures are great, because I’m over there, taking notes like I’m going to be tested later, soaking in all kinds of information, and I don’t have to prep anything before I go!
Anyhow, I have had such a fun month, I didn’t blog much but I’m probably going to have a couple different things to chat about next month! Maybe even a finish or two! Until next time, happy sewing!
Great post 😁
