Thank you!!

Yesterday my Facebook page got to 100 likes!

(even though this morning it went back to 99…but didn’t show any dislikes…whatevs yo)

So that means it is giveaway time!

I’ll start my giveaway on Monday, so in case any of you want to get in on the fun (and possibly win this amazing bag!) then go give my page a like.  There are several ways to get entered in; since you’re reading my blog you’ve already got one entry down!  But, I mean, I have to make it a little more difficult than that, don’t I?  So, here’s all the ways you can get your name in the pot for Monday:

  • Like me on Facebook
  • Follow me on Instagram
  • Follow me on Twitter
  • Subscribe to my blog (this is where you already have your foot in the door!)
  • Monday when I share the details of the giveaway on Facebook, like, share and comment on the status!  This one’s the most important.  Without this, no other entries will be considered!

This is what we're going for here people!

Happy sewing everyone! I’m heading back to my sewing room to make one more bag!

One down, one to go, one on the way, three bags total!

As my instagram followers saw, I got my fabric Friday, and I got to work!!  I followed the video, and stopped for a taco bell run, but I finished the bag!  This one is going to my mom, but I’ve been “testing” it.  What, I don’t want to give my mom a bad bag!  I gotta make sure it works good! 😉

So here’s a breakdown (minus taco bell) of my Friday night in pictures.

I was so excited I didn’t even take a picture of it still wrapped up!

The strips sewn together (oh my goodness there’s bras on this bag, lord have mercy!)

What I used for the lining, the pocket and the straps. So vibrant!!! So pretty!!!

All finished! So happy! Oh and there’s me upside down in the door knob.

close up view of the quilting (oh no there’s those bras again!)

Yes, I’ve been rocking this since Saturday. I think I need one for myself.

It was so fun to make!  I did one thing different from the tutorial; I used felt instead of batting.  It was easier to work with and more sturdy. I really like it, and now someone I know is asking for a variation of this for a diaper bag!!  I’m thrilled!  And I have her fabric ordered (Bluebird Park by Kate and Birdie and Aqua blue Kona solid) so now I wait til it comes in!!! (Fabric Friday anyone?!)

Until next time, happy sewing!

Giveaway Prize in the works!

I’m nearing the 100 likes mark on my Facebook page, and to celebrate I’m going to have a little giveaway.  I’ve thought about what I’m going to give away, and I’ve finally settled!  I’m making a quilted bag that has a breast cancer awareness theme.  My mom was diagnosed and beat breast cancer in 2012, and we lost my mom’s cousin to breast cancer, so it’s something very close to my heart.

I’m taking the pattern from the Missouri Quilt Company but I’m tweaking it so it’s a little smaller.  I’m going to be using this Think Pink collection from Riley Blake Designs for the outside, and a fun stripe pattern for the inside and pockets.  Remember, all you need to do is like my facebook page to get this ball rolling!  I’ve got 83 likes so far, so that’s just 17 more likes and then BAM!  Giveaway time!!!

Until next time, happy sewing everyone!

P.S. I’m actually making 2 bags, one for the giveaway and one for my mom…but don’t tell her! 😉
