Yipee!

Apparently I needed some serious sleep, because I went to bed at 8pm last night and mostly slept the whole night!  I’ve been feeling a little crabby and had no motivation at all, but now!  Now I can take on THE WHOLE WORLD!  Okay, maybe just parts…fluffy parts.

I’m leaving after work to drive 4 hours to my parent’s house.  It’ll be nice.  I haven’t been down there since April and I’m hoping it’s not too much of an inferno.  I only have the plans of going to my nephew’s birthday party, and hopefully get some of my favorite local fast food.  I also want to hit up the thrift store and get some sports t-shirts on the super cheap so I can try to make this shirt scarf I saw.

I actually hate going to the thrift store, because it always smells like mildew and dust.  Everything in there feels dirty, and I feel like I might pass out from the smell.  I’m willing to take the risk to get some cheap shirts though.

I also need to stop by the fabric store while I’m down there to see if I can get some fabric for a little less than it is up here.  I feel like, in the big city of Nashville, they jack up the price on everything.  I just need some white cotton.  Is that so much to ask for?!  I also want to see if I can get some camo things, because one of my friend’s, who have been trying to have a baby for years, is finally pregnant!  She’s so excited, and I want to make her a little something special.

So depending on whether or not I stay the whole weekend or come back tomorrow afternoon will dictate whether or not I get any sewing done this weekend.  I want to, trust me.  I know that if I finish that chevron quilt top OR finish quilting that big brown monster, I’ll feel a huge burden lifted.  Last night would have been ideal sewing time, but I seriously needed some sleep.  My little helper has decided he needs to wake me up at least 2 hours before my alarm goes off…for about 2 weeks.  And my sweet husband doesn’t let me sleep in on the weekends.

The weather is looking very great!  I’m hoping to have a nice weekend and see my sister and nephew and niece and mommy…and even my dad.  Maybe, JUST MAYBE I’ll even see some friends!
